Britain's self-proclaimed biggest cheese awards have been thrown into confusion following the summer floods.

Organisers of the Great British Cheese Festival, due to be held in Frilford, Oxfordshire, on 28-30 September,

are appealing for help after flood water destroyed computers storing a key email database during judging in July.

"Our server was untouched by flood waters, but the database was only stored on individual machines," said Juliet Harbutt, chairman of the British Cheese Awards.

"We would like anyone who has asked us to do something for them to get in touch."
