Baxters unveils some unusual additions to its soup ranges at the end of August, including what it claims are the first canned haggis and canned butternut squash soups on the market. The range has also been repackaged and now sports purple tartan with a black background. Two of the newcomers join the Traditional Soups range. Haggis Broth contains haggis, carrot, potato and swede and Mulligatawny is a lighter version of the spicy classic. Rsp for both is 69p. "We believe this launch is timely as sales of haggis itself are on the increase in the UK and the dish is becoming less of a seasonal product," commented ambient soup assistant brand manager Chris Palmer. The new Butternut squash and red pepper soup is a new addition to the low fat Simply Delicious range aimed at younger adults with less conventional tastes. Rsp is 79p Palmer said the new varieties showed the company's commitment to bringing current flavour trends into the soup market. Baxters is supporting its premium canned soup range with a TV advertising campaign this winter timed to hit the soup season' and backed by sampling at supermarkets around the country. {{P&P }}
