An 84-year-old runner is the star of a TV and press campaign for Bertolli olive oil spread.
The activity, on air from Monday (February 2), forms part of the Unilever brand’s £10m marketing budget this year.
Aimed at highlighting the health-enhancing properties of olive oil-based products and the spread’s Bertolli olive oil content, it features former Olympic sprinter Ugo Sansonetti.
At first, he appears to be an elderly gentleman with mobility problems as he struggles to get around a quaint Italian village using a walking stick.
However, when he spots a pram holding a baby hurtling down the street, it becomes clear that he is more than agile as he races after it, backed by the voiceover: “People in the Mediterranean stay active longer, thanks to a diet rich in fresh fruit, vegetables and olive oil.”
