milkshake

Often ‘most expensive’ food or drink title holders are unavailable to Joe Public, but any old riff-raff can get hold of our planet’s priciest milkshake, which costs $100 (£75).

New York restaurant Serendipity 3’s shake has a British twist, with Jersey milk and Devon clotted cream. Tahitian ice cream, Italian cherries, something called ‘donkey caramel sauce’ and the inevitable edible gold ramp up the price. It’s served, as all classy rich people would expect, in a glass studded with Swarovski crystals.
