Heads up, fitness types! If you’re brave enough to snack on insects for your protein fix, you might like… cockroach milk.

US scientists have just discovered that pacific beetle cockroaches feed their babies a formula particularly rich in protein, fat and sugar. But even though the boffins found it had potential for human consumption, it’s unlikely it will be in the dairy drinks aisle any time soon – not least because the ‘milk’ comes in crystal form. Just as well – they don’t make milking machines that small yet anyway.
