Enthusiastic, time-rich spread enthusiasts recently set up a ‘World Nutella Day’ on Facebook.

Naturally, Ferrero sent over a skipload of free samples and basked in the great PR, right? Er, no. Instead, its department of legal geniuses sent a cease and desist letter. Brilliant.

But all is not lost. It seems the proceedings were brought automatically, and have now been dropped. Ferrero is now friends with its fans, having given the go-ahead for the big day to take place in February. Phew.
