It’s amazing what a difference a celebrity voiceover can make. Take the ad for Danio yoghurt, Danone’s new range of “super thick” low-fat treats.

The advert isn’t bad - though it is strikingly unoriginal. In it, a quirky chef-doodle bursts into life, and prances through the pages of a notebook, milking a cow, collecting fruit and so on. It’s colourless and forgettable to look at - but the voiceover, from Harry Hill, is packed with personality. Hill is well-known for his broad appeal, and while his delivery is engaged and enthusiastic, there’s a hint of his gentle TV Burp mockery too.

Having saved the ad from obscurity, Hill even puts in the extra effort and sings the “mmm, Danone” bit at the end. He’s great value.
