With the World Cup in full swing, it’s good to see mother Russia embracing the spirit of the event - stuffing your face with unhealthy food while watching (and occasionally shouting at) professional athletes.

There may not be room for a safe space for minority fans in the country, but fortunately it has been possible to make and distribute this massive chak-chak - a dessert cake made from deep-fried unleavened dough and honey syrup.

The titanic treat was sliced up and served to fans in Kazan - where it’s also been reported beer supplies are running out due to the presence of thirsty Australian fans. Coincidence? Well, the chak-chak does look pretty dry…
