The popularity of apricots is soaring as consumers eat more of the fruit at breakfast and lunchtime.

Sales of apricots currently stand at £13.2m, up 17.4% by value and 21% by volume over the past year [Kantar 52w/e 13 June].

"This has been driven by increased use at breakfast, while more consumers are taking apricots in their packed lunch," said Kantar analyst David Farmer.
