Dale Farm japan export

Dale Farm has struck its first cheese export deal for the Japanese market.

The dairy co-operative said it had signed “a significant contract” with Hoko Co, which sells dairy and frozen foods into the retail, wholesale and catering sectors in Japan. “The amount of dairy being imported by Japan has increased by more than 20% in the past year so the market represents a substantial growth opportunity,” said Stephen Cameron, Dale Farm’s Group commercial director.

The Japanese manufacturer, which visited Dale Farm’s Dunmanbridge plant earlier this year, imports Cheddar from across the globe, which is processed to create products and tastes suited to Japanese customers.
