Dairy Crest and Müller have held their farmgate milk prices for July despite indications that production for this year’s spring flush will exceed 2014’s record volumes.

Dairy Crest’s ‘price floor’ - introduced in April after it reduced its Davidstow price to 25.1ppl, and its liquid milk price to 23.1ppl - will continue into July.

Müller will also hold its farmgate price of 24.15ppl. A spokesman warned it was “concerned at the extent to which supply is rising”.
