Missed out on a Heston concoction? Fear not: Hain Daniels has also tapped into the festive market with this mince pie-inspired addition to its Lovetub range (rsp: £1.29). A spiced sponge topped with chocolate biscuit pieces and sticky chocolate sauce, the 100g pot is exclusively available at Sainsbury’s. Like all Lovetub products, it is designed to be microwaved and eaten straight from the tub, and targets younger shoppers who prefer informal dining experiences - and minimal washing up.


Chocolate Orange Melting Middles

Gü describes the latest of its luxurious ramekin desserts as “fabulously decadent” - with good reason. The puds (rsp: £3.49) are infused with Brazilian orange oil and, as the name suggests, boast chocolate ‘lava’ centres. Along with Gü’s other SKUs, Melting Middles are being given a pack makeover for Christmas to help increase in-store standout.

Cole’s new twin-packs of steamed puddings (rsp: £2.29) are, says the supplier, “made the traditional way” - right down to the jam in the strawberry, raspberry and lemon variants, which is sourced from centuries-old supplier Tiptree. The range, which also includes chocolate, sticky toffee and golden syrup puds, has a six-month shelf life.

Fox’s is anticipating its “busiest Christmas ever” thanks to a new range of seven festive desserts (rsp: £2.99), which it hopes will build on the momentum of its ‘lighter’ Christmas pudding, launched last year. The range includes packs of nine bite-sized puds, complete with ‘white ice’ to sprinkle on top, described by Fox’s as a “category first”.
