Heineken will tonight unveil a new 30-ad dubbed The Opera to celebrate its sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League.
The 30-second ad features AC Milan veteran Clarence Seedorf taking a shot at Juventus stopper Gianluigi Buffon in the setting of an opulent opera house.
The ad is part of a new campaign the Dutch beer brand has called Legendary Football and coincides with the start of the group phase of Europe’s premier club football tournament.
“Heineken understands the magic of the tournament and the masterpiece moments that make it so special,” said Heineken marketing manager Rick Lawrence.
“Legendary Football captivates the excitement of the very best that club football has to offer and the enjoyment of these high standards is something that Heineken has in common with football enthusiasts.”
In May Heineken extended its contract with UEFA to sponsor the Champions League until 2015.
