Kerry Foods is promising to shake up the kids snack market with the launch of Cheestrings Shots.

The new product contains sachets full of small cheese pieces that kids can shake straight into their mouths. Each sachet of cheese is made from 200ml of milk.

Shots will be available from 10 August in Tesco and Morrisons and from September in Asda, sold in packs of six 21g portions (rsp: £1.89). The box will contain a window so consumers can see the product inside.

Cheestrings had been repackaged this year to emphasise its natural credentials and the new launch would offer parents a wider choice of healthy and natural products for their children, the company said.

The Cheestrings brand, which has a 31% share of the kids cheese snacks market, is currently worth £51m [Nielsen], with Shots expected to add £4m to the brand value.
