Protein is still important but consumers are waking up to the risks of products that focus too narrowly on one nutrient, says Dr Ando Ahnan-Winarno, co-founder and COO at Better Nature  

For years, the food industry has treated protein as a nutritional silver bullet. Add extra grammes to a bar, shake or cereal, stamp ‘high protein’ on the pack, and consumers would come running.
