German discounter Aldi has shelved plans for a store in Fraserburgh, Scotland, after the proposal was rejected by local authority planners in August.

Locals were divided over plans for the store, but many objected to its location next to a cemetery.

Aldi has now confirmed it will not appeal against the decision, but the Banff and Buchan area committee has said it is free to apply to build in other parts of the town.
