Asda moves up one place to take the top spot in the fascia chart this week, pushing Morrisons down to number two.
Safeway has increased its share of promotional activity, moving up one place to number three. Asda is particularly strong on price promotions on alcoholic drinks which are featured heavily on gondola ends.
Alcoholic drinks continues to dominate, although its lead has been reduced from 22 percentage points to 10.
Price promotions are most commonly used on the wines and spirits, while beers and lagers make good use of multibuy offers.
Household comes in as a new entry at number three this week with a wide variety of products on promotion featured on off-fixture displays, floor stacks and gondola ends. The promotions include multibuy offers and extra fill promotions.
In the category chart there are six new entries including Heinz, which comes in at number one. Other new entries include Princes, Kellogg's, Nestlé, Burton's and Walkers. Burtons at number nine focuses upon Wagon Wheels.
Pringles, which drops to number eight, features both multibuy offers and price promotions.
The own label category chart is dominated by new entries with only soft drinks remaining in the chart from last week, moving up from number five to share first place with frozen foods.
The frozen category is dominated by multibuy offers with Asda, Morrisons and Tesco all promoting their own healthy eating ranges.
