Asda supplier Hall and Bramley has recalled 23,000 cases of brandy and rum after a malfunction at its Aintree bottling plant. Broken glass, blamed on a faulty filling machine at the plant, was found in a number of bottles. The contaminated spirits had been on nationwide distribution to retail and wholesale outlets, including Asda, since September 25. Asda own label, Bootlegger, Jules Clarion, Rievaulx, Trentier and Carta Negra brandy and rum brands are affected. A helpline has been set up on 0151 521 5407. {{DRINKS }}
