Asda is taking its George clothing brand overseas with the launch of two franchise stores in the Middle East.
The outlets will be run under the George banner in the retailer’s first foray into franchising.
“It gives us a point of learning about franchising,” chief executive Andy Clarke. “It’s new to us.”
Asda is currently the fourth-largest clothing retailer in the UK, having launched its George brand in 1990.
