The Big Food Group has further expanded the foodservice side of its business in a deal between subsidiaries Woodward Foodservice and Booker.
Under the terms of the agreement, Booker allows Woodward joint use of its new depot for ambient products at Kingswinford in the west Midlands.
The move enables Woodward to progress plans to expand its distribution of core grocery brands such as Heinz, Walkers and Coca-Cola to foodservice customers. Some of these brands will be supplied via Booker.
Woodward branched into the grocery market a year ago and Kingswinford forms stage two of its plan to establish a national network of depots for grocery and chilled products by September.
BFG chief executive Bill Grimsey said: "This is an exciting time for Woodward Foodservice. Our customers will benefit from our ability to distribute from such a central location."
