Booker is teaming up with Kerry Foods Direct to Store to revamp its fresh and chilled food delivery service under the new name of Booker Fresh.
The service will initially be available to Premier symbol group retailers from next month. But Booker hopes to roll it out to all its customers by the summer. The partnership aims to guarantee delivery six days a week at cash and carry prices and cater for single pick or small case deliveries. There will be no minimum orders and range and price guides will be issued every month. Orders can be taken directly by KFDTS’s van sales operatives as well as by fax, phone or e-mail.
“This is a massive improvement to our existing service,” said Steve Fox, director of Booker Retail and Premier.
Paul Stubbins, sales and marketing director of KFDTS, added: “Infrastructure costs of daily delivery to independents are such that the days of several suppliers serving one store are numbered.”
