Sir; re ‘Tesco’s vow on disability’ (The Grocer, April 10, p96).

Remploy does not have charitable status. The company is a government-funded agency which was set up in 1945 with the aim of increasing employment opportunities for disabled people.

The Tesco-Remploy partnership is the latest of many that have been established with UK employers across all the sectors, helping them with solutions for staff recruitment and retention.

The recruitment and retention solutions are provided free and any company that wishes to make use of Remploy’s services, should e-mail me on: greig.smith@remploy.co.uk
