Leading meat producer Grampian has announced the details of its structural changes following the appointment of former Arla boss David Salkeld as chief executive.

The move involves changes to both the main board and the creation of an executive board, which will be based in Leeds. Grampian’s corporate activity, to support the main board, will remain in Aberdeen. The company said it was hoping to create a flatter and more focused organisation.

The main board will comprise three executive directors, Fred Duncan, David Salkeld and Iain Imray and five non-executive directors, John Lind, Paul Monk, Harry Tocher, Tony Pearce and Martin Gilbert. Philip Hopley and Grant Mackie, previously on the main board, join the executive board.

Fred Duncan, chairman, said: “The development of our existing Leeds office will allow our executive team to have an operating base in the geographic centre of our UK wide operations.”
