Café and grocery chain Carluccio's is eyeing 100 sites as part of a major expansion programme. This week the company announced a pre-tax profit of £3.4m, up 6%. Sales were £45.8m, up 24%, for the year to 24 September.

Tesco has rescued in-store maintenance provider Maintenance One Services - five months after the company went into administration. It has been bought by the retail giant's subsidiary, Engineering Maintenance Services.
