Sainsbury has lost its group e-commerce head Patrick McHugh, instrumental in the company's involvement in the B2B exchange, GNX. The news of his departure in June  not announced by Sainsbury until now  comes hot on the heels of the resignation of home shopping chief Angela Megson and JS pulling the plug on its digital TV channel due to lack of advertising. McHugh oversaw the Taste Network deal with Carlton, declaring it would be more important than the net in grocery e-commerce. A spokeswoman said that because Homebase had been sold and the chain had a limited investment in Shaws, McHugh felt his role was no longer big enough. Group human resources and information systems director John Adshead has taken on responsibility for GNX. {{NEWS }}
