Cadbury remains at number one for the second consecutive week with a glut of promotions across several categories, including cakes and biscuits, frozen and, of course, confectionery. The brand has been in the top three of the chart since early February and its closest competition is still Heinz, now at less than one percentage behind. Competition has also increased from Nestlé, in third place, which narrows the gap further.
Kellogg’s moves back up the chart while both Müller and Walkers lose ground. Kellogg’s leans heavily on the multibuy promotion but also features some extra-fill offers on gondola end displays.
There are three new entries this week. The highest is McVitie’s, at number eight, which returns to the chart after an absence of four weeks. McVitie’s make good use of the buy-one-get-one-free offer, operating on both Mini Cheddars and Penguin. The other new entries to the chart are Bounty and Persil, both of which use the price-promotion mechanic virtually exclusively.
