Premier Foods has promoted Andy Riddle from business unit controller for Tesco to head of foodservice for cash & carry sales, reporting directly to Mat Baker, director of foodservice and ingredients.

Gareth Vaughan has been re-elected for the sixth successive time as president of the Farmers' Union of Wales. He runs a traditional beef and sheep unit at Cwmyrhiewdre Farm, Dolfor, near Newtown.

Hook Norton Brewery has appointed Jonathan Paveley as non-executive chairman. Paveley was formerly commercial director of Punch Taverns.

Icefresh Foods has named Philip Webster as sales director. Webster, who joined the company in 2003, takes up his new role on 1 July.

Lord Rooker, the former minister of state for sustainable food and farming and animal health, has been elected president of the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers. He succeeds Baroness Hazel Byford, who steps down after two years.

Jeremy Blackburn, executive officer of the British Poultry Council, has joined the Commission for Rural Communities as senior Whitehall advisor.

Kraft Foods has appointed W Anthony Vernon as president of Kraft Foods North America. Vernon, who takes up the role in mid-August, joins from private equity firm Ripplewood Holdings. He replaces Rick Searer, who retires at the end of September.
