Sainsbury’s will bring in 15,000 seasonal workers for the key Christmas period.

Seasonal staff will carry out a wide number of roles from November onwards, including customer service, manning the tills, stocking shelves and online picking.

“We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals who love working as part of a team,” said Sainsbury's retail human resources director Helen Webb.

“Last year we had over 24 million customer transactions in Christmas week alone, so our seasonal colleagues are absolutely vital in ensuring that we provide our customers with great customer service right across the store.”

Last year, 2,100 seasonal staff went on seal permanent roles with the retailer.
