The Somerfield group has restructured its Somerfield and Kwik Save business units and group buying teams.
At Kwik Save the buying function has been concentrated into three core teams ­ ambient, fresh and non-food. Category director Kim Mawby has become category buying director for ambient grocery.
Mike Rutter, category director for core and impulse groceries, has become fresh food category director with extra responsibility for new product development capability. Non-food category director Sue Cronin-Jones takes added responsibility for equipment procurement. In addition, Somerfield category director Mike Osmond becomes Kwik Save retail director. Kwik Save commercial director David Coxon has left. Marketing director Gill McComas takes extra responsibility for business planning and strategy.
At Somerfield, commercial director Kieron Mayes becomes format director, new formats programme. Nigel Broadhurst replaces him but has added responsibility for category development, pricing, promotions and range.
Brand director Martin Sutherland has responsibility for Somerfield strategy and customer relations.
