Acompetitive and tough field sales team

The new field sales team at Nestlé Waters may have only been formed three months ago, but members are already working well together, says Emma Barker, regional sales manager for the south.

Barker has worked at Nestlé Waters for four years, before which she worked for United Biscuits in a variety of sales roles and as a chartered accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

She leads the team, which has eight territory managers,m and gives national coverage for Nestlé's water brands Vittel, Buxton and Perrier.

The team members are Barrie Turner, Charlie Foster, Ben Yates, Massimo Stravino, Kevyn Whitelaw, Joanna Merrill, Matthew Edwards, Sarah McKay and Zoe McBlain. Barker is also looking to recruit two more members.

They have a varied background, with experience working in fmcg and retail at companies including Asda, British Gas, Tesco, The Carphone Warehouse and Gallaher. One team member has a background of teaching in Spain, while another has just returned to the UK following a period of travel.

"They are a good bunch to manage," says Barker. "All of the members of the team spent a month on induction before it was launched in February this year so they have all had to work very closely together.

"They are a very competitive team and have been really tough on themselves. They all strive to be the star performer in the team."
