Tesco is set to launch its home shopping catalogue in the first week of September.

Reports suggest that the retailer is ready to print around 20 million catalogues offering electrical, garden products and home furniture.

It is planning to send a copy to each of its 13 million Clubcard holders, with further copies available at 500 stores.

The reports add that the catalogue would not be as big as the catalogue offered by high street retailer Argos, but would be gradually expanded.

There has been speculation for months that Tesco would launch a catalogue. In December last year The Grocer reported that Tesco had started recruiting a new publishing team to “help launch a bold and exciting new venture”.

And this week Verdict Research predicted that Tesco would become the biggest non food retailer by the end of the year, with a 3.6% share of the market, overtaking Argos on 3.5%.
