Former Tesco veteran David Wild has been appointed president and managing director of Wal-Mart Germany.
Wild, who worked at Tesco
for 19 years in senior positions, including group supply chain director and head of Tesco’s supply chain in business development, joined Wal-Mart Germany last year as chief merchandising officer.
During his time at Tesco, Wild was best known for spearheading the controversial factory gate pricing initiative.
He replaces Kay Hafner, who has headed the chain for four years. Wal-Mart did not give any details on his departure.
