Tesco has been nominated the top corporate giver for the second year running in a Business in the Community tracker.
The multiple retailer donated the most to charities and good causes in the year. Tesco Computers for Schools delivered £84m worth of ICT equipment to schools in Britain - including over 52,000 computers.
The Tesco Charity Trust topped up funds raised by Tesco staff in the Race for Life 2002 campaign. Of the £15.4m raised in 2002, Tesco staff raised over £600,000 of the total.
Nearly 70 businesses ranging from supermarket and clothes retailers to insurance and financial companies entered the Cause Related Marketing Tracker developed by Business in the Community.
