How they performed

KeyStore was the only shop to provide a full basket this week. Our shopper stated that the store was welcoming and the staff were helpful and attentive. Our shopper said the store provided an excellent number of promotions on items across all categories.

The Plymouth and South West Co-operative Society's Your Local Co-op store also provided good offers, including a buy-two-get-a-third-free on Heinz Baked Beanz and two-for-£2.30 on 2-litre bottles of Coca-Cola.

Our shopper noted that although the aisles were not free of packing trolleys, the store was still tidy and had attractive displays. The store would have provided a full basket had it stocked a 6-pack of bacon, as requested on our shopper's list, and not an 8-pack.

Londis did not stock Tetley tea bags in the size we requested but ticked all the other boxes on our shopper's list including offering to pack his bags.

The checkout assistant greeted him politely and, although it was a small store, our shopper said staff had done all they could to make it attractive to customers and still provided a good range of products.

Our Spar shopper was also impressed with the customer service he received and help was offered with packing his bags. He said the store was well-merchandised and free of shelf-stackers and packing trolleys, although the aisles were quite narrow.

Sainsbury's Local provided everything on our shopping list except a 6-pack of bacon. The store was tidy and well-merchandised and our shopper was pleased when the checkout assistant offered him help with packing his bags.
