Waitrose has appointed Michelin-starred chef Jonathan Moore as executive chef.

Moore has worked as a chef in Michelin-starred and five-star restaurants but has most recently held senior product development and innovation roles with major food manufacturers and retailers. He is also the founder of food consultancy Tomorrow's Food, which specialises in NPD and food trends.

“Waitrose truly is a retailer that lives and breathes food excellence and innovation," Moore said.

Waitrose head of brand development and product innovation Sam Dickson added: “Jonathan is widely recognised in the industry as a leading product development chef and his wealth of experience will be invaluable as we continue to raise the bar in product quality and innovation.”

Moore fills the gap left by Neil Nugent, who quit Waitrose earlier this year to join Morrisons.
