Cornerways Nursery, a major supplier of fresh tomatoes to the mults, is on track to up its production by 75% after officially opening a seven-hectare extension to its glasshouse.

The extension, which was opened by South West Norfolk MP Elizabeth Truss last Friday, will see Cornerways increase ­production from 80 million to 140 ­million tomatoes a year.

Cornerways is owned by British Sugar and uses ­water from the ­­combined heat and power plant at its parent company's Wissington factory.
