Own-label popcorn manufacturer Cornpoppers has launched a branded range of flavoured popcorn in ‘scratch & sniff’ packaging.

The packs for new flavours - chilli & Sicilian lemon, maple syrup and Mexican jalapeno - have been developed in association with a perfumier. “This is by far the biggest and most exciting project we have taken on,” said sales and marketing director Mick Ryan.

The company is in talks with retailers about listings and is installing a new production line for flavoured popcorn. It is also planning to increase the size of its factory by around 6,000 sq ft.

supermarket own-label popcorn currently accounts for circa 85% of Cornpoppers’ business.
