Tassos Dafereras has taken over the role of head of buying for ambient and beers, wines & spirits at Makro Cash & Carry UK.
Dafereras is one of the wholesaler's international heads of buying, based in the UK. He replaces Nick Redford who has been appointed buying director for foodservice at buying group Caterforce.
Redford, who had held the role since February 2007, is the second high-profile departure for Makro in a month. Allard Sjollema, the influential commercial director and right-hand man to MD Hannes Floto, left to join Tesco in China.
