Shropshire cheesemaker Belton Cheese, has won a permanent Morrisons listing for Red Fox, its crunchy Red Leicester cheese.

The cheese will go on national distribution on deli counters in Morrisons from 26 November (priced at £8 per kg). It is currently only available from independent wholesalers and retailers but was a guest cheese on Morrisons’ delis earlier in the year.

The cheese had an “intense and complex blend of sweet and savoury flavours with a ‘crunch’ created by the formation of calcium crystals as the cheese matures”, according to Belton.

Red Fox is matured for between 16 and 18 months.
