Diageo is targeting female wine drinkers with 6.4% abv ready-to-drink vodka spritzes.

The Nola range comes in bottles (rsp: £7.99/70cl) and single-serve cans (rsp: £2.99/25cl) in two flavours: raspberry & elderflower and watermelon & strawberry.

Nola will roll out to 626 Tesco stores from 17 June, and 487 Asdas from 10 July. It is being supported by a £500,000 marketing spend, including in-store activity, sampling and advertising from January.

Diageo said there was little choice for women looking for a lighter alternative to wine.

However, interest in wine-based drinks is growing following recent own-label launches and Echo Falls Fruit Fusions is launching in July.
