Excitement is building here at Grocer Towers, as we’re gearing up to reveal the winners of our first ever Grocer Drink Awards this evening.

Executives from across the industry will be joining us at a lavish event at Banking Hall in London tonight to discover who will be taking home the trophies in categories ranging from beer and cider to gin and fruit wine, incorporating craft as well as mainstream.

The Grocer Drink Awards 2016 (TGDAs), launched in June in association with Cambridge Market Research, mark a new chapter for The Grocer and are already creating a big buzz in the drinks industry.

It’s not hard to see why: this is a great time for innovative NPD and new trends in the drinks sector, be it driven by our seemingly unquenchable thirst for fizz, the nation’s unstoppable love affair with gin or the boom in all things craft. No better time, then, to celebrate the very best the industry has to offer.

The TGDAs – created specifically to reward and recognise quality, taste and value in own-label and branded drinks – join our well-recognised and respected stable of awards including The Grocer Own Label Food & Drink Awards and The Grocer Gold Awards. The gold-awarded tipples will be given the opportunity to be badged with the award logo, instantly improving shelf standout.

To keep up with the action tonight and be the first to discover our Gold and Silver winners, make sure you follow us on @TheGrocerEvents and keep an eye out for the hashtag #TheGrocerDrinkAwards

We’ll have a round-up of the winners online at thegrocer.co.uk tomorrow morning. And, for all the glorious details, a four-page feature telling you all about the champions, including expert and consumer comments, will be published in this week’s issue of The Grocer.

It’s one not to miss. Cheers!
