Mid-strength wine brand 6Percent has landed its first-ever retail listing with Ocado.
Its Red Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 and White Sauvignon Blanc 2024 will land with the online-only grocer on 1 March (rsps: £15.99/70cl).
The duo were aimed at “filling the gap between alcohol-free and full-strength options, offering flexibility for mid-week, daytime and longer drinking occasions”, 6Percent said.
Both wines have undergone a revamp to coincide with listing on Ocado. An “improved recipe” delivered “full flavour” while the vintage year for each was now “clearly marked” on pack.
6Percent’s Red Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon was “bursting with red berry and black cherry, and complemented with a hint of spice”, according to the brand.
Meanwhile, its White Sauvignon Blanc offered “refreshing acidity” and notes of “zesty lemon, fresh gooseberry and crisp apple”.
Despite some 42% of shoppers reporting interest in mid-strength products [KAM, February 2025], they remained difficult to find in store, 6Percent claimed.
“That’s why we’re so thrilled that Ocado is listening to consumers and adding our premium wines to their range,” said 6Percent co-founder Gabriella Lamb. “By improving accessibility, we hope to help bring mid-strength into the mainstream.”
6Percent’s new recipes offered “enhanced structure, greater complexity and a finish that rivals full-strength premium reds and whites”, Lamb added.
“Mid-strength wine plays an important role in offering a lighter alternative that still delivers the ritual and enjoyment of wine,” said Ocado low & no-alcohol buyer Shauna Clark Fitzpatrick. “6Percent brings a genuinely premium approach to this space, and we’re excited to add their range to our mid-strength offering as the category continues to grow.”
