Findus Group has set up a dedicated Nordic business unit and hired a senior executive from Nestlé to head up the new division.

Jari Latvanen joins the frozen food company as managing director of the Nordic team on 1 October. He spent 10 years with Nestlé, including stints at the helm of the company’s Swedish and Czech businesses.

At Findus, Latvanen will oversee a unit that employs 800 people across Denmark, Finland and Sweden.

“Jari’s appointment will enable us to drive growth in the region, predominantly from share gains in our key categories, as well as exploring options to enter new categories and consider geographical white-space opportunities,” said Findus chief executive Chris Britton.

The news marks the latest appointment at Findus, after Neil Sanderson was last week named MD of the Czech Republic and Slovakia businesses and Tasha Gladman was confirmed as marketing director.
