Sainsbury’s is selling dressed lobster through its dedicated Christmas ordering service for the first time this year and already anticipates it will be its second best-selling Christmas food item, after turkey.

Taste the Difference dressed lobster (300g for £19) consists of two halves of ready-to-eat Canadian lobster dressed with lemon mousse, topped with a lobster claw and a king prawn skewer garnished with asparagus spears and lemon.

It is available through Sainsbury’s Christmas ordering service, which allows shoppers to buy festive foods by filling out a special ordering form and handing it in in-store, along with a deposit. Food can then be collected on 21, 22 and 23 December.

Sainsbury’s director for fresh and frozen food Simon Twigger also said he expected to sell one in four turkeys through its festive ordering service this Christmas.
