American celebrity chef Guy Fieri is rolling out his range of four barbecue sauces (rsp: £4.50/510g) and four salsas (rsp: £4.99/453g) on this side of the pond this summer. The range includes sauces from the Deep South (Bourbon Brown Sugar, Root Beer), the MidWest (Kansas City) and California (Pacific Rim). Fieri is also gearing up for the launch of a new range of pasta sauces later on in the year. He co-owns five restaurants in California and is known for his television series on the Food Network.

Food packaging expert Sirane has gourmet barbecue kings firmly in its sights with the Sira-Cook Barbecue Bag, part of its Thinking Cooking range. It allows cooks to grill meat on the barbecue in a sauce. It’s also ovenable, so if the weather throws a spanner in the works, all is not lost. Unilever wants to change that with a bit of help from this new packaging, featuring an easy open and lockable cap, a wider base and smooth shape to allow access to every last gloop of mayo. Eblex is launching a flat iron steak (rsp: £11.99 to £14.99 a kg) as part of its effort to promote new and traditional beef and lamb cuts. The product is part of Eblex’s new Steak Bar range for the retail sector through which it will be promoting cost-effective cuts through on-pack labels, recipe books and purchase incentives.
