Midlands cash & carry operator Hyperama has secured £15m of funding from HSBC UK.

The Landmark Wholesale member said it plans to use the funding to refurbish its depot in West Bromwich and increase importing capabilities.

The wholesaler currently has four cash & carry depots, with sites in Nottingham, Derby, Peterborough and West Bromwich.

The refurb would improve efficiency and the overall shopping experience for customers, it said.

The capital will be used to increase imports from the Far East and expects to create 10 new jobs.

“Our customers demand an ever-increasing range of food and drink products from overseas and the funding package puts us in a great position to meet this demand,” said Hyperama MD Marcus Singh.

“It will also allow us to tap into new trade markets.”
