Constellation Wines has chosen Marina Gayan as general manager of Cellar Door, its new premium wine division.
Gayan joins from BRL Hardy, where she was responsible for the regional wine portfolio. Before that she worked for wine producer Catena. She has just become the first ever South American Master of Wine.
Cellar Door will be launched on December 1 in London and
will sell wine from 14 premium New World estates, including wine sourced from winemakers such as Peter Dawson, chief winemaker at the Hardy Wine Company, and Joel Peterson, co-founder and senior winemaker at Ravenswood, California. They will be responsible for supplying wines priced at £6 or more to off-trade and on-trade channels, from off-licences to multiples.
