Hardys plans to celebrate 150 years of winemaking by bringing out a new range of premium wines. Dating back to 1853, the Australian brand, part of the BRL Hardy stable, claims to have pioneered the McLaren Vale region.
Details of the new wine range are being kept under wraps and a series of other events are expected to take place to mark the anniversary, including advertising and trade initiatives.

box for 35 south
Chilean producer San Pedro is launching its 35 South wine in a three-litre box format. Six single varietals will be available in the format including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère.
San Pedro's UK importer, Buckingham Vintners International, said the development, launching in Asda in May priced £15.99, was in response to increased demand for bag in box wines.

spirited singles
A new range of drinks packaged in single serve pouches has been launched into the off-trade to spruce up the market for miniature bottles of spirits. Quickshots, marketed by Meridian Drinks, come in three versions, vodka, tequila and peach schnapps and cost 99p.
The packs are stocked in a 100-sachet counterpack and will be supported by advertising and promotions.

tia lusso one litre
Safeway has joined Tesco and Sainsbury in listing Tia Lusso in a one-litre bottle. Allied Domecq said the larger bottle size, priced at £16.99, would give the brand increased stand out on shelf. ADUK's senior brand manager Neil Anderson said: "Not only is Tia Lusso adding incremental volume to the cream liqueur category, but the category value is growing at a proportionately higher rate than the volume."
