Robert Wiseman Dairies is bringing out a range of milk drinks for children.

The Shock range has been developed to offer kids an alternative to less healthy drinks, many of which have been banned from schools after updated nutritional guidelines were introduced last year.

The milk drink, which comes in chocolate, strawberry and banana flavours, is being marketed to children and parents as a healthy treat. It is made with natural flavours and colours and contains no preservatives. Shock also incorporates a spiral opening designed for easier opening.

Sales and marketing director, Sandy Wilkie, said the early response had been positive. "We wanted to produce a tasty, nutritious product for children, and the most effective way to do this was to consult them through the focus groups. This is a product for children by children."

The launch comes a

week after Arla Foods announced it would reformulate its Breaktime flavoured milk drinks.
