If Kerrygold has seen its sales of Irish butter in the Indian Ocean region soar recently, William Reed's editor-at-large, Clive Beddall can reveal why.
Beddall OBE was in Mauritius on a "fact finding" holiday when he witnessed bizarre plundering of Kerrygold butter portions by greedy French holidaymakers.
One Parisian explained: "Eet eez so much better than the butter we get at home!"
Beddall also spotted a smart piece of marketing by Nestlé in the Mauritius capital Port Louis, in the shape of a branded bench, a big hit with locals and visitors alike and he advises Kerrygold to consider following Nestlé's example.
